Raise a Glass: A Toast to Jack Baker and Michael McConnell
Jack Baker and Michael McConnell brought the first same-sex marriage case to the Minnesota Supreme Court in 1971, more than 40 years before the U.S. Supreme Court recognized the freedom to marry. Today they are still advocates, and still together, having just celebrated their 55th anniversary. Their story is a reminder of what persistence looks like in advocacy and in love.
