Overview: The Hasbro Children's Fund assists children in triumphing over critical life obstacles as well as bringing the joy of play into their lives. We provide support for programs which provide terminally and seriously ill children respite and access to play, educational programs for children at risk, and basics for children in need.
- Children and Youth, Services:
- Employee Related Programs: Hasbro also has an Employee Volunteer program which consists of a database of local organizations with volunteer opportunities. Employes are eligible for 4 hours of paid time off each month to volunteer with children. Non-profit agencies that offer child-centered volunteer opportunities in the ares of Rhode Island, Springfield, MA, Vernon Hills, IL and Seattle, WA are elibible to post their volunteer opportunities. Go to Hasbro's website for more information and a link to post volunteer opportunites.
- In-kind Donations: Hasbro, which includes the brands Playskool, Tonka, Super Soaker, Milton Bradley, Parker Brothers, Tiger, and Wizards of the Coast has a very active program in reviewing toy requests. All organizations interested in requesting donated producst are asked to use the online request form. Requests must be received no later than September 30th for regular programs and October 15th for holiday giving programs.
Application Procedures:: The Trust supports grants in areas where Hasbro has operating facilities including Rhode Island, Springfield, MA and Seattle, WA, giving also to regional, national, and U.S.-based international organizations through strategic partnership program.
When considering grants, the Trust's priority is to provide support for direct service programs for children, with emphasis on those with the greatest need. Capital campaign support may be provided, depending on the number of proposals received. Such proposals must be for facilities that house programs for children. Again, the highest priority is given to the programs that support children with the greatest need.
All organizations applying for grants must make their grant request online. Applications for financial gifts should follow the application instructions on Hasbro's website. Applications for the Gift of Play product donation program should reference the Gift of Play page to determine various deadlines for different donation programs.
